Analysis of the Metaphor in the " Fisherman” poem by Kurt Brown A lot more a fishing water. This shows the activities of man on a daily basis, where person has to will end up in search of his daily bread plus the obstacles that he activities. Brown's poem, " Fisherman, ” shows the miserable condition of man and life's struggles throughout the metaphor of a fisherman. Examining the poem makes me observe how a lot more in this amount of recession, exactly where man's ego is significantly seen nevertheless his contentment is treasured. Life is noted not to always be easy, and man nonetheless existing, expecting that he wakes sooner or later and life is better. Dark brown uses the fishing and ocean metaphors to convey these kinds of key connotations and feelings: broken ego, envy, hope with willpower and satisfaction.

Brown views the important relationships between a man's ego and his contentment, and this individual uses the " shadow” metaphor to represent the parting between them. Although man's spirit and satisfaction are two different attributes in the life of a man, yet they are really very closely related. These characteristics are advised by the actions of the fisherman as he observes his problems and how this overwhelms him. " Could it be the ocean or the very little puddle of his holes? / Is this his dinghy or the frayed boards of his spirit, scorched simply by storm? ” (18-22). A man's ego is his pride, his unwillingness to compromise his opinion and embrace modify. The composition never identifies storm, but it can be seen while what contributes to the broken ego of your man, influencing his position and lifestyle. This pertains to a man getting brought to his lowest point of difficulty and vicissitude which business lead him to become envious of his fellow workers and contemporaries. The feeling of envy can be self harmful and a bad idea if in order to fester the mind. Brown demonstrates this in the shadow metaphor: " your dog is only experienced the darkness of anything enormous darken his lifestyle. Or features he?
